David Rothschild | Cofounder

David has a Ph.D. in applied economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He has written extensively, in both the academic and popular press. His work pushes the boundaries on varying data and methods: polling, prediction markets, social media and online data, and large behavioral and administrative data. His work focuses on solving the most relevant applied questions including: mapping and updating public opinion, the market for news, effect of advertising, finance, and an economist take on public policy.

Jeff Quinn | Head of Technology & Data Infrastructure

Jeff Quinn is a data engineer specializing in distributed computing. He has vast managerial experience, and a deep desire for progressive change. Jeff has worked at a variety of early stage technology companies including Outvote.io, BlueVoyant, and NunaHealth.

Greg Beswick | Head of Politics

Greg has nearly 20 years of campaign experience that includes serving as the Executive Director of the Ohio Democratic Party, managing statewide and congressional campaigns, and senior-level experience on presidential campaigns. In the past, Greg worked in the U.S. Congress and the office of the Ohio Attorney General, and founded his own consulting firm. He is currently active in the Association of State Democratic Executive Directors as the co-Vice President. Greg has a BA. in political science from the Ohio State University and an MBA from Ohio Dominican University.

Nikhil Garg | Principal Data Scientist

Nikhil recently graduated with a Ph.D from Stanford University and is a researcher at the intersection of computer science, economics, and operations. He has worked extensively as a data scientist with several online marketplaces and civic engagement platforms, including on the design of survey and rating systems, surge pricing, and how to vote on budgets. He has also analyzed stereotypes in word embeddings and polarization on Twitter, and is focused on solving practical problems in a principled manner.

Aaron Schein | Data Scientist

Aaron is a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University's Data Science Institute. His research contributes to Bayesian statistics and causal inference, as well as to core areas of computational social science such as text, network, and time-series analysis. His recent research in collaboration with the labs of David Blei and Donald P. Green uses large-scale digital field experiments to assess the causal effect of friend-to-friend texting on voter turnout in US elections. He obtained his Ph.D. on scalable Bayesian methods for analyzing dynamic networks of international relations from the College of Information and Computer Sciences at UMass Amherst under the guidance of Hanna Wallach. He also earned an M.A. in Linguistics and a dual B.A. in Political Science and Linguistics from UMass Amherst. Prior to joining PredictWise, he has worked in the industry at Google, Microsoft Research, and the MITRE Corporation.

Vivian Ellis, Data Analyst

Vivian Ellis has been with PredictWise in the role of Data Analyst since 2021. With several years of experience in data analytics, she serves progressive political organizations with data-driven insights to bring awareness to key issues in politics and provides campaigns with supporters and persuadable audiences needed to secure votes. She studied at Eastern Washington University and received her Bachelor's in Mathematics and Masters in Computer Science.

Tobi Konitzer | Cofounder

Tobi has a Ph.D. from Stanford University, and has a background in researching public opinion at the forefront of Machine Learning, leveraging a plethora of disparate data streams including: everything from cell-phone telemetry data to survey data to behavioral news consumption data. Tobi has published his work widely both in the academic and popular press, and his research has been covered by The New York Times, The Atlantic, etc. Before founding PredictWise, Tobi was part of Facebook Research.

Dr. Andrew Gelman | Professor of statistics & political science, Columbia University

Andrew Gelman is a professor of statistics and political science and director of the Applied Statistics Center at Columbia University. He has received the Outstanding Statistical Application award from the American Statistical Association, the award for best article published in the American Political Science Review, and the Council of Presidents of Statistical Societies award for outstanding contributions by a person under the age of 40.
